A New Mom's Life

I don’t know about you, but I put the labour as far back in my mind as possible. I’d read all the pregnancy books, learn about each month’s development, then conveniently skip the section on labour. In my child birthing classes, I would zone out when the instructor would go into detail about the “Ring of Fire.” To be honest, I really didn’t want to think about it. I knew it would be hard, I heard that it sucks, and I was going to leave it at that.

The truth? It’s hard, it kind of sucks, and I’m going to leave it at that. ;) But then you get a beautiful baby out of it.

Pre-labour, people will be telling you the grueling details of their past labours. You will wince and try to cover your ears. However, after you’ve been through this crazy, amazing experience, you will ask to hear these stories. You will be amazed at the women who gave birth without drugs, who went through 30+ hours of labour, and you will want to share your own war story.
